A workshop, which lasted for 3 days, from 29 November to 1 December 1999, was held in Barcelona, and was intended by 70 professionals from 18 countries that already have experience and a deep knowledge of the aquaculture sector. The objective of this workshop was to review the latest development of technologies for the improvement of quality throughout the production cycle, and to discuss quality concepts, product quality standards and norms affecting this industry.
