"On n'est pas dans le futurisme, mais dans un drame bourgeois ou un thriller atmosphérique"
New York-based artist Sarah Sze creates intricate site-specifie works that exist at the intersection of sculpture, painting and architecture.
Often relying on the careful organjzation of small, mundane objects, Sze's environmental installations challenge the perception like a three-dimensional Magic Eye book.
Invited to represent the USA at the Venice Biennale in 2013, this is the first comprehensive review of Sze's twenty years of work.
The latest title in Phaidon's acclaimed Contemporary Artists series, this richlyillustrated book features contributions by authoritative figures such as Okwui Enwezor, Benjamin H. D. Buchloh and Laura Hoptman.
Benjamin H. D. Buchloh is Professor of Modern Art in the Department of History of Art and Architecture at Harvard University and an editor of October magazine. He divides his time between New York and Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Okwui Enwezor is a curator, art critic, editor and writer. Since 2011 he has been the Director of the Haus der Kunst in Munich. In 2015 he directed the 56th Venice Biennale.
Laura Hoptman is a curator in the Department of Painting and Sculpture at The Museum of Modern Art in New York.
