We are confronted today bu scourges never before faced by mankind. Global warming, chronic starvation and the decline of biodiversity are the result of an unrelenting forced march toward economic progress. The world has been organized in such a way that half of its population has been left behind.
Our new course of conduct must be defined by solidarity, sharing and communion with nature. These are precisely the fundamental and enduring values of African culture !
Africa can and must yake the lead in creating a world in which nature and man are finally reconciled, a world rooted in development that, going forward, must necessarily be equitable and sustainable !
