"On n'est pas dans le futurisme, mais dans un drame bourgeois ou un thriller atmosphérique"
Paris, 1793.
"Madness and Glory" takes place in the context of the post-French Revolution. Guillaume Lalladiere has just escaped from the Bicêtre Asylum after chains on all patients were struck off by the father of modern psychiatry, Doctor Philippe Pinel. The escapee becomes certain that he is about to be killed.
Lalladiere is regarded as a disturbed and dangerous man, and is pursued by asylum attendants and French gendarmerie for several days before he is discovered. Back at the Bicêtre Asylum, he is taken into the care of Doctor Pinel, who aims to heal him thanks to new therapeutic methods.
But strange voices surround and constantly plague him... What if Lalladiere's worst enemy is Lalladiere himself? Who has a grudge against him?
